Description of the Lawn Mower Exchange Program: The APCD
will offer SLO County residents the opportunity to purchase a $399
Neuton 24-volt, cordless rechargeable lawn mower for the reduced
price of $160 in exchange for a working, gasoline-powered lawn
mower. At each MOW DOWN Air Pollution event locations, participants
will drop off their gas-powered lawn mower at the time and location
selected during the pre-registration process. Consumers will then
purchase their electric mower at the venue for a discounted rate to

Where and When: The MOW DOWN events will take place on
Saturday, May 3 at the Laguna Middle School in San Luis Obispo,
Saturday, May 17 at the Paso Robles Support Services Facility and on
Saturday, May 31 at Nipomo High School from 9:00am – 2:00pm. The
on-line registration has a map of each of these locations.
How do I participate? To participate in this event you
must pre-register! Register on-line or call the
APCD at 781-1003. Phone registration is open Tuesday-Thursday.
Who Is Eligible for the Lawn Mower Exchange?
To participate you must:
Pre register—to secure an electric mower
at a selected location and time
Be 18 years and older
Live in SLO County- only one mower per
resident / business allowed
Turn in an operable gas powered lawn
mower at a MOW DOWN Air Pollution Event (preferably emptied of
gasoline)
Purchase a Neuton Cordless electric lawn
mower at a MOW DOWN Air Pollution Event for $160 (cash, check or
major credit cards accepted)
Bring the confirmation letter and proof of ID at the selected
event
