Ag Engine Incentive Workshop
On Thursday, March 1 from 10 am to 12 noon, the
San Luis Obispo County Air Pollution Control District (APCD) will
host a public workshop to expand awareness on available grant
funding opportunities for stationary agricultural engines.
Approximately $570,000 is available countywide! The workshop
will be held at the APCD office at 3433 Roberto Court, San Luis
Obispo.
At this workshop you will learn:
- New State requirements for agricultural engines;
- Grant $$ available to assist you in meeting new regulations;
- Funding criteria;
- How to apply; and,
- Resources available to assist you in submitting proposals.
Recently, the California State Air Resources
Board (ARB) adopted an Air Toxic Control Measure (ATCM) to establish
in-use stationary diesel agricultural engine emission standards in
order to reduce diesel PM emissions, exposure and health risk. The
requirements will directly affect
San Luis Obispo County farms and ranches using
stationary diesel engines, primarily those used to pump water for
crop irrigation.
Grant funding is available through a
first-come, first-served Request for Proposals (RFP) process for the
Ag Incentive Program. Eligible projects will include the purchase of
new electric motors and related equipment, repowering old diesel
engines with new diesel off-road engines that meet the current
emission tier, and retrofitting diesel engines with ARB verified
retrofit technology. Don’t miss this opportunity for the APCD to
help you meet regulations by funding the replacement of an existing
diesel engine with cleaner engine technologies!
